Unleashing the Recruitment Storm: Unraveling the Explosive Mid-Year Report Card!
The first six months of 2023 have come and gone in the blink of an eye, but it has already been an incredibly busy year for the recruitment industry. While many in the sector have reported difficulties in hiring, the reality is that things have simply returned to a more sustainable level in the aftermath of Covid. A steady stream of jobs has been coming through, as have skilled and experienced candidates to fill them, so the industry is in a healthy place once again.
Recruitment companies are positively calling out for seasoned consultants who are self-sufficient and have the ability to crack on with their work, rather than juniors who lack experience and require a lot of support. While this is less positive for those looking to get into the industry or move up the career ladder, it is indicative of just how strongly the sector is performing, and that experienced professionals are needed if agencies are to keep up with the pace.
Not everything is looking quite as rosy though. The talent acquisition market is still taking a battering, as employment levels remain very high. Of course, top hires are still there to be found, but with so many firms looking to recruit, competition for the best candidates is decidedly hot. Arguably, the tech space is where the shortage of talent is being felt most intensely, as the UK continues to grapple with its ever-widening digital skills gap. In this sense, now is a very good time for experienced and talented tech professionals to be on the lookout for a new job, as there’ll be plenty of companies lining up to interview them.
Evidently, the recruitment industry is going from strength to strength, and ALS is no exception. The first half of the year has brought a headcount rise, with our team of recruiters having grown to 10. Talented recruiters have positively flocked to us, drawn by our unique, people-first approach, and each team member individually brings a proven track record of billings in excess of £200,000 to their roles. This is because we exclusively hire senior recruiters who have been working in the industry for many years, as these are the individuals who know best how to deliver the finest results for clients and candidates alike. Positioning ALS as the number one home for experienced and talented professionals is a key step on our slow march to becoming an unrivalled recruitment empire!
All in all, 2023 has been a good year so far, both for ALS and the sector more widely. The recruitment industry has climbed back into the saddle after the downturn that Covid brought, and is galloping ahead confidently into the second half of the year. If the past six months are anything to go by, there’ll be plenty of jobs for talented candidates on the horizon soon!
